This is knitting up quickly, as I would expect from a very bulky yarn on large needles, and will be my knitting-after-anesthesia project for tomorrow.

The scarf looks beautiful. The only caution is that you may want to bring a lighter project. Your hand may be a little tender after the I.V. goes in and comes out.
