If I had not lost my camera
I would give you the gleam of oak covered by childrens piano books
a shimmer of silk and wool dotted with pearls
a finch’s bright orange beak at dawn.
If I had not lost my camera
you would have the tenderest small tomato plant
green against black vivid in the sun
If I had not lost my camera
there would be two small girls sitting under a tree
heads together holding
a funeral for a caterpillar
If I had not lost my camera
I could offer you the flutter of ribbons
against the sky of May Day.
This is what you would see
what I could give to you
If I had not lost my camera.
I’m so sorry to hear you lost your camera! I hope you can find it or a new replacement soon.
But Anna, you DID give it to us. Thank you.
Thats beautiful Anna. 🙂
