And that is how much color work you can work in a day or so if you knit it instead of knitting a sock. I’m ready to fold up that hem now, and start knitting it in, which will be a little fiddly. I pick up one stitch at a time from the cast on edge, and knit it together (K2tog) with a pattern stitch to fasten it in place – it makes a very neat even join, but it is fiddly.
I’m not sure you can see it in the picture, but the turning row for the hem is Yo, K2tog around, which will make for a very pretty picot edging. This is the Norwegian Star, from Charlene Schurch’s book Hats On! (Am I the only one who always types Scharlene at first, and has to correct it? I do that every time…..) I’m working it in Brown Sheep Nature Spun worsted.
So pretty! Love the colour combo!
