My house has been taken over by men with hammers and nail guns and drills. There is loud pounding as the existing windows are knocked out of place, and lots and lots of cold drafts as new windows are being carried in the front door. Also perhaps due to the gaping holes in the walls where the old windows were.
And all before 9 am.
Edit 12/11 : The windows are done! They were actually done the same day, in and out in under two hours. Amazingly fast, and the new windows are much less drafty then the old ones, though I still want to put up some 3-M film over them.
Hey! Thanks for the comment on my blog. I’ll certainly keep your advice in mind. By the way, I’ve been through the “home repair” game over and over since we bought our 100 year old house 2 years ago. Hang in there!
I hope the men with hammers are done sooner than expected. It is odd to get new windows in December, but chances are he got a deal on off season windows and the work. It’s always easier and cheaper to get contractors in the winter.
