Thanks to Margaret for the heads up about the Purlescence Storyteller’s contest series. This is a fascinating little contest series – the challenge is to design a knitting or crocheting project for the storybook character of the month. This month’s fantasy knitter is Cinderella.
What intrigues me is the mention of writing a ‘short story’ about the piece – while the idea of a creating a piece of short fiction about a knitting design is appealing, I don’t think it is what is actually intended. Later the entry guidelines say “tell us the story behind it”, which is not exactly a call to short fiction.
I may enter this after NaNoWriMo is over – even without the short fiction aspect, it’s a neat contest.
Wow, that’s very intriguing – thanks for the heads up!
