There was a girl:
Who met a boy:
They became very good friends and spent many years being in love with other people and only friends with one another, until the day came when she was single and he was single both at the same time. Then they fell in love.
So they cooked a lot of food:
Set up a lot of chairs:
And invited everyone they knew to come see them get married.
Everyone came:
And they got married:
And lived happily every after:
Today is our 8th anniversary. 9/5/1998
Contratulations! May you always be as happy as you were from the beginning of your marriage!
Happy anniversary — I like that last picture very much.
Happy anniversary! What could be better than being married to a good friend?! Your story reminded me of a song by Greg Brown that has this line: “Someday when we’re both alone, we’ll get together. Someday when we’re both alone.”
Happy Anniversary! Looked like a very fun wedding.
Thanks everyone!
Melanie – we’re going strong!
BlogLily – that’s my favorite of all our wedding photo’s. Some friends of ours are classical musicians, and learned our song for us for our dance. ‘Music of the Night’ from Phantom of the Opera, performed on violin and cello – it was wonderful.
Chris – I’ll have to look up Greg Brown now!
Kisnit – It was fun – we’re into renaissance fairs and such, so it was all medieval theme (I’m not sure how well that comes across in the pics). We had roasted turkey legs, and one of the best photos from the whole shebang is of a friends daughter eating a turkey leg – the thing is literally as big as her head (she was about 7) and you can only see her eyes peeking out over the top of it.
