The body of the bag is knit, and I have bound off the sides, keeping 15 on a stitch holder and 15 on a needle to knit the handle. The handle is knit in garter stitch, then knit onto the held stitches with a three needle bind off. I’m looking forward to trying this bind off, but I do wonder about the garter stitch. Such an unlovely fabric, generally speaking.
So far I’m content with how this project is coming out – it will make a nice utilitarian little bag. It could make a very very lovely bag, with a little tweaking of what I am doing, and I may knit another one now that I know what I want out of this project.
